Weekday Lunch at Ohsho

In search of more japanese food, I gotten to know of Gyoza no Ohsho at Cuppage Plaza. ( near Orchard Point) I tried their days lunch set which consist of half ramen , half cha han, fried chicken and pan fried gyoza . From other reviews, curry rice will be served instead of cha han on some days . I was rather lucky as I get to eat their cha han. Food served is fast and iced water is provided FOC. I was given the option of shoyu, shio and miso soup base for the ramen which i chose miso.

The ramen soup taste salty and the noodles doesnt have the bite. The cha su slice is abit fatty, not the worse I have seen. Ramen only taste average . Gyoza is crispy and taste great with the vinegar n shoyu provided. Awesome fried rice with cha su and egg.
The lunch set is filling and it only cost me $11. In cuppage plaza, many restaurant have their weekday lunch at $10 nett. Gyoza Ohsho is one of them.

Momiji at City Square Mall

After 3 weeks in India , i realised how much i missed japanese food. Having a tight budget in mind, i decided to go momiji japanese buffet in city square mall.

When i arrived at 12pm, there is a queue waiting to be seated. This is surprising as the mall is relatively quiet on weekdays. Paid 21.80++ per pax for weekday lunch.

They have great variety of nigiri and maki though the taste is average. Rice ball for the nigiri is machine made. I didnt try all the sushi though, only tried tamago, salmon, salmon mentai sushi and california roll. The inari sushi isnt well presented, too much rice and fillings that breaks the tofu skin.

Didnt get to eat the cold dishes but there is soba, potato salad and etc.
There is shrimp , maguro, salmon and tako sashimi. Many took the salmon sashimi, which taste pretty ok not as nice compared to those from sushi restaurants.
Cold Prawns and mussels. Sadly,  didnt get to try them.
I think they called it kaminabe which is paper hot pot. Standard miso soup with lots of veg.
Wagyu beef slices with black pepper sauce. It wouldnt taste as good if cooked for too long. There is enoki mushroom wrapped with beef slices. Better value for money in eating the wagyu beef.

There is a teppanyaki section that serves, beef steak, mentai chicken, salmon teriyaki and etc. Only taken the beef steak as didnt get to eat that in India.

Chosen momiji instead of kiseki, mainly because of the haagen dazs ice cream.
Gotten to eat the vanilla caramel brownie in New Delhi DFS, but the portion they give is miserable and the price is relatively the same. In momiji, the haagen dazs ice cream is some what free flow. There is even 4 great flavours to chose from. ( Belgium chocolate, rum n rasins, green tea and cookies n cream)

Free bottle of extra year choya when I buy the Royal Honey choya from SG DFS shop. Great taste, my sis didnt like it though. Hopefully the Royal Honey will take better.

Last of all, I had a great time in momiji though the food is average. The price and variety is what draws me to try momiji. Wouldnt be going again any time soon as didnt want to stuff myself.
